Kidnapped Ondo state monarch, Oba Joel Daodu, released by his abductors

Oba Joel Daodu, the Oniyani of Iyani Akoko, who was kidnapped on the 16th of April by gunmen along Owo/Ikare- Akoko highway in Ondo State, has been released.
The Oba was found walking by the roadside in Ayede-Ogbese, along Akure-Owo highway from where he was then taken to the police station.

Buhari commends Ministries, Securities agencies, others over re-opening of Abuja Airport.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Ministries of Transport, Power, Works and Housing and the security agencies over the successful completion of work on the runway and re-opening of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, 24 hours ahead of the scheduled time.
The President also lauded the efforts of Kaduna State Government, the contractor, Julius Berger, and others, on the successful completion of the airport project. Buhari gave the commendation in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Tuesday in Abuja.

Benedict sipped the beer alongside his brother, Mgr Georg Ratzinger, and received a gift basket that included pretzels.

The retired pontiff was born on April 16, 1927, in southern Germany. But since the birthday coincided this year with Easter Sunday, the occasion was celebrated on Monday.

On a sunny, mild day, guests sat outside the monastery on Vatican City grounds where Benedict has lived since he became the first pope to resign in 600 years.

Ikoyi $43m: Rivers State Govt claims ownership. Gives FG 7days ultimatum to return the funds they claim was diverted by Amaechi

Rivers State Governor has given the Federal Government an ultimatum of 7 days to return the $43million dollars found in a luxury apartment in Ikoyi to the Rivers State Government, failure which the State Government will take legal measures to ensure that it gets back her stolen resources, declaring that the $43million dollars found in the luxury apartment in Ikoyi belongs to the Rivers State Government.

NDLEA nabs jewellery and auto parts dealers with drugs at Lagos Airport

Officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos have discovered cocaine hidden inside the boxer shorts and luggage of a passenger. Two suspected drug traffickers, a jewelry and auto parts dealers have been apprehended in connection with unlawful importation of narcotics.
The suspects according to the Agency are Okonkwo Godwin, 57, an importer of jewellery found with cocaine in his boxer shorts and Nnaemeka David Chinedu, 37, an auto parts dealer who ingested 94 wraps of heroin.
