2 Nigerian Anti Narcotics Officials Disappears With Seized Drugs

Two officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement ‎Agency, NDLEA, have been declared wanted after absconding with narcotics last month. 

Daniel Goska, ‎a Superintendent of Narcotics, and Ndubuisi Ughor, a Chief Narcotic Agent, disappeared from their duty posts after a drug suspect, Dayson-Eddie Ifeanyichukwu, was nabbed with 74.4 kilograms of banned drugs at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

The officers were last seen on duty at the Enugu Airport on August 7, the NDLEA said in a statement on Monday. According to the NDLEA rules, absence from duty for 21 days is punishable by dismissal. 

Mr. Ifeanyichukwu and three other suspects had been arrested by the anti-narcotics agency for unlawful exportation of the banned drugs. 

Ahmadu Giade, NDLEA’s chairman, said any staff indicted under the law would be treated equally. Said;

“Efforts are ongoing to charge the officers in line with the rules of engagement. The agency is moving forward and will continue to purge itself of undesirable persons who are deficient in discipline and integrity,”

How I Met My ‘Stingy’ Husband—Helen Paul

Comic actress, Helen Paul, is regarded as a very versatile entertainer in Nigeria because of her many paths in the industry.

Some months ago, she floated a theatre academy in Lagos, which now boasts of several students.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Helen explained she met her husband, who used doughnuts and soft drinks to woo her. She described her husband as a stingy man.
The comedienne said her husband was a friend to the person she was working for back in the days, who always come around to their office.

“He was a friend to my boss. While he always saw me as too playful and jumpy, I saw him as too stingy. Those days when my boss’ colleagues came visiting, they always reached out to us when leaving. They gave us money which we used to buy doughnuts and soft drinks but my husband never gave us anything.

“On that fateful day, I summoned courage and as he was leaving, I told him, ‘sir, you don’t buy us anything any time you come but we really like you. If you can be buying us doughnuts and soft drinks, we would be very grateful’. He started laughing, so I quickly added, ‘sir, it’s not only me o. My colleagues are also involved, so please don’t tell our boss’.

“We were so happy I asked for his phone number which he gave me. And then I gave his number to my friends and we all started calling to thank him. He realised that we really desired the doughnuts and soft drinks so whenever he came by, he would give us money for doughnuts and soft drinks.
“He never failed to deliver whenever he showed up and we never stopped thanking him. And then one day, he took a good look at me and said ‘baby, I love you’ and the rest is history,” Helen narrated.

Popular Actress Nabbed With 15 Packages Of Drugs

According to Eyewitness News, The South African actress whose identity will be revealed tomorrow when she appears in court was arrested at Tambo International Airport on Sunday, September 27, as she arrived from Abu Dhabi, South African Revenue Service said in a statement‚ describing it as “a significant seizure”.

The actress‚ who has appeared in several soapies including Scandal and Isidingo had unsuccessfully tried to slip past Customs officials.

Officials discovered 15.4 kilograms of ephedrine in her bag. SARS said the narcotics have an estimated street value of R4.6 million.

"The passenger‚ who was proceeding through the ‘Nothing to declare channel-Green channel’‚ was stopped by Customs officials for her bags to be scanned. The scanning of her one bag showed up suspicious images. Upon further investigation and searching of the bag‚ officials discovered 15 parcels wrapped in carbon/foil-like material hidden in the luggage.

Immediate tests conducted by SARS officials confirmed that the suspected substance was ephedrine‚ which is the main ingredient in crystal meth.The narcotics and passenger‚ identified as a South African actress‚ were detained and subsequently handed over to South African Police Service (SAPS) Organised Crime for further investigation"

The revenue services' Luther Lebelo says the actress will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 29.

Rene can be seen giving a tender wave in one clip, which appeared to be recent, while another showed him communicating with giggling son Nelson using his hands.

 

The former manager has battled three bouts of cancer, and is unable to speak due to extensive surgery on his throat.

During the show, the crowd cheered whenever Celine’s husband could be seen on the large screen behind her.

She said that Rene had encouraged her to return to her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

'I didn't want to be here at first, I don't need it,' Celine explained. 'Don't get me wrong, I love singing for people, but I have priorities. But Rene really gave me a gift.'

According to the National Enquirer, Celine was hoping that Rene would be able to sit front row when she returned on August 27, but he was not well enough.

Instead, he watched the concert on a live feed in the couple’s Nevada home.

The Nation reports that there were signs yesterday that pro-Saraki senators may have “laid an ambush” for President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list, which is being expected at the Senate “any moment from now”.

A source said, ”They may reject the list and all appointments made so far by the President in protest against Saraki’s trial”. Another source said,

”They know that the President will not present imposed candidates as ministerial nominees and they are out for a pound of flesh as from September 29 because the Code of Conduct Bureau( CCB) dragged the President of the Senate to the Code of Conduct Tribunal(CCT)”.

A government source said;

“The whole plot is aimed at frustrating the President and cause a political crisis in the country. 

“They have this feeling that they must pull down the house due to the arraignment of Saraki by CCT. In spite of denial, they are pointing accusing fingers at the Presidency for Saraki’s travails.”

The community of Amaja, a border town between Enugu State and Benue State in Igboeze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, was on Monday thrown into a shock when a couple, identified as Mr. Marel Abah and his wife Mrs. Jacintha Abah, had their throat slit in their sleep, by unidentified men at about 2am.

It was gathered that the deceased couple met their untimely death when the men of the underworld, gained access into their house situated in an isolated axis of the town under a heavy downpour. 

The bodies of the couple have been deposited at the morgue of Ogurute General Hospital for autopsy. The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebere Amaraizu in a statement in Enugu on Thursday confirmed the incident.

That is the one they call 64 slides. Udom, the one that you have here is 640 slides. Ten times in magnification of what you have in Europe. 

''Why has the hospital not taken off? It is because the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria expects to register anybody who wants to work as a doctor in Nigeria. You cannot go to Britain and work in Britain unless you pass through the procedure. Because, at the same time Immigration must give you the necessary resident permit for you to bring in those doctors and those doctors must in turn have at least 2 to 3 people with them in order to pass technology to them. We are not going to bring in people to work here forever. They must handover to indigenous skilled manpower trained by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.

Nigerian conman weeps as he's jailed in the UK for fraud

A Nigerian conman, Godwin Nwaofor, 36, funded his expensive lifestyle by cheating pensioners out of their life savings. He kept a 'suckers list' of potential victims to send bogus letters saying they had won the Australian Lottery.

The Nigerian national received around £1million from the scam and blew the money on luxury cars, gold jewellery and expensive champagne at top nightclubs in London.

Nwaofor was a ‘willing and enthusiastic lieutenant’ to the mastermind of the con, another Nigerian, Frank Onyechonam, who was nicknamed ‘Fizzy’ for his love of vintage champagne.

Onyeachonam was jailed eight years last year, after he was exposed as the chief player in the scam.

He drove a Maserati and fired bubbly corks across exclusive private members clubs as he lived a life of fantastic luxury on his victim’s life savings.

The scam started with a bogus letter to a vulnerable pensioner telling them they had won the Australian Lottery.

Two Nigerians arrested in Australia over importation of 40kg drugs concealed in DVD players

Two Nigerian men, Chibuike Anyasor, 33, and Joe Iwuchukwu Odemegwo, 51, were yesterday September 3rd arrested by the Australian police for allegedly importing more than 40 kilograms of methamphetamine which they concealed inside bar fridges and Jackie Chan-branded DVD players.

The two Nigerians appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court today. Ansayor, described by police as a key figure in the drug importation syndicate, was charged with importing and attempting to possess methamphetamine. Odemegwo was charged with attempting to possess a commercial quantity of methamphetamine. If found guilty they face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

A 70 year old man might have cheated death when he bounced back to life after spending over 30 hours in a mortuary in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
 
 Doctors at a private hospital in the town had on Saturday, August 26, 2015, certified Amos Otene dead at 4. 30 am and   promptly covered him up and wheeled him into the mortuary, awaiting instructions from members of the family for embarment.

As further proof that Otene was dead, the doctors extracted the requisite body fluid and other substances from the corpse, for post mortem examination which was to ultimately reveal the cause of death.

According to the family, the hospital admitted Otene on Friday August 25 after he complained of severe toothache which had persisted for several days. As the news of Otene’s death spread, family members and other sympathisers continued to throng the hospital.

Airport Cleaner Caught With N53m At Murtala Muhammed International Airport

The aviation security personnel of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria have arrested an airport cleaner with the sum of $271,135 (about N53m) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. 

The suspect, Mr. Tijani Owolabi, a worker with one of the cleaning contractors at the airport, was arrested while trying to carry the huge sum of money through the screening point.

A statement by FAAN said, some of the foreign currency was found on Owolabi while the rest was recovered from the sanitary bucket he was holding while trying to pass through screening machine. The statement added that the agency suspected that Owolabi was conveying the currency to an accomplice at the airside of the airport.

The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) is way richer than the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari who’s liquid worth is put at less than N30 million as at 29 May, 2015.
According to his asset form by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), who had been a successful lawyer before his foray into politics declared a bank balance of about N94, 000, 000 (ninety-four million) and 900,000 United States Dollars in his bank accounts.
 
As revealed by the same form, Osinbajo’s asset declaration include his 4-bedroom residence at Victoria Garden City, Lagos and a three-bedroom flat at 2 Mosley Road, Ikoyi.
The Vice President also has a two-bedroom flat at the popular Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and a two-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England. Aside from these, the Vice President has no other landed properties on the form.
Apart from his law firm, known as Simmons Cooper, the Vice-President also declared shareholding in six private companies based in Lagos, including Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria.

“According to details shown on the form, the Vice-President has about ninety four million naira, nine hundred thousand US dollars and nineteen thousand pounds in Nigerian Banks with the foreign currencies kept in local domiciliary accounts.”

His personal vehicles are one Infinity 4-Wheel Drive SUV, one Mercedes Benz and a Prado Jeep.
“As soon as the CCB is through with the process, the documents will be released to the Nigerian public and people can see for themselves,” a source said.
