Barrister Olukoya Ogungbeje pictured above is reportedly the lawyer that filed the Fundamental Humanrights lawsuit against Inspector General of Police Idris Ibrahim, Nigeria Police Force, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Fatai Owoseni and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command, on behalf of Evans. (he's doing his job though)

Evans is asking the police to release him from detention or charge him to court. The case is yet to be assigned to a judge.

Nigerian Students In Malaysia Top The List Of Foreign Drug Offenders


KUALA LUMPUR: More Nigerian “students” are being hauled up over drug crimes nationwide than other foreign students, according to Bukit Aman.

Federal police records show that of the 358 foreign students arrested since 2015, more than one third of them were Nigerians.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said 122 Nigerians were arrested from January 2015 until May this year.

“We arrested 33 in 2015 but last year, that number almost doubled to 63 and it looks like the number will increase again this year,” he said when contacted.

A cowboy was very fortunate to escape death after being attacked by an angry cow in Sokoto just before the Eid celebration. An incident resembling a matador taking on a bull occurred in the state when the cowboy met an ill-tempered cow as he was trying to lead and tame the cow, the cow went berserk and attacked trying to gore him with its horns.

But the cowboy struggled to protect himself, narrowly missing being knocked down by the massive animal.

It could have been a normal way of taking the bull by the horns; instead, it is the cow taking the man in between its horns.

It was really quite frightening.

The Nation gathered yesterday that the suspect had given a lot of names to the police, most of whom were currently being tracked.

It was gathered that the kingpin also disclosed that some of his accomplices were based in Europe, which explained his craze to collect ransoms in foreign currencies.

Three Armed Robbery Suspects Refuse To Be Paraded In Rivers (picture)




Three armed robbery suspects refused to be paraded before newsmen on Friday after they were arrested by a team of policemen from the State Police Command attached to the Rumuolumeni Police Station.

The trio identified as Charles Harry, John James and Frank Anyaegbulem, gave policemen a tough time as they vowed that they were ready to be shot dead than allow themselves to be paraded before newsmen.

Mother Of 4 Dupes Facebook Lover N5 Million (photo) - Crime




A single mother of four, Aishat Akintunde, 33, has been arrested in Lagos for allegedly defrauding her Facebook lover of money and properties valued at about N5 million.

Police alleged that Akintunde, a resident of Egbado road, Dalemo, Alakuko, Alagbada, Lagos and hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria allegedly succeeded in defrauding her France-based victim, Ayobami Adeniyi after she promised to marry him and also helped him purchase a filling station in Nigeria.

American Sent To Prison For Defrauding Three Nigerians - Crime


An Ikeja High Court on Thursday remanded an American citizen, Marco Ramirez, at Kirikiri Maximum Prison for allegedly defrauding three Nigerians in a 565,000 dollars green card and investment scam.
Mr. Ramirez was remanded following his not-guilty plea to a 16-count charge of obtaining money under false presences.

He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The EFCC prosecutor, V. O. Aigboje, alleged that the accused, managing director of three companies – USA Now Plc., Eagleford Instalodge Group and USA Now Capital Group – committed the offences between February 2013 and August 2013.

Nigerian Arrested In Mumbai For Drug Peddling - Crime


The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Navi Mumbai police arrested a Nigerian national in Kharghar on Tuesday for being in possession of 178.6 gram of methaqualone worth ₹8.15 lakh.

The accused, identified as Garry Okafor (36), was arrested from Sector 34 in Kharghar after Sub Inspector Rani Kale from the Anti-Narcotics Cell received a tip-off.

According to the police, Okafor arrived in India a one year ago on business visa and trading in garments. The police said methaqualone, the drug seized from the accused, was a party drug that cost between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000 per gram.

Evans: I Gave My Father N3m, SUV And A Hilux Van; Why I Didn't Enjoy My Money




Suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike alias Evans, yesterday claimed he gave his father N3million cash, a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a Hilux Van before he stopped visiting his hometown, Umudim, Nnewi in Anambra State.

Evans made the allegation when detectives took him to one of the dens his gang used for the detention of victims.

The bungalow situated at Green Street, Jakande Estate, Isolo, was rented by the kingpin, through his gang members in 2010 and he paid the rent yearly.

Fresh Graduate Shot Dead By Suspected Cultist In Imo State


One Samuel Ucheihero Njoku, a. k. a SammyRocco, a fresh graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede was allegedly shot dead on Sunday, June 11, by one Uche Obiaku, who is suspected to be a cultist.

In retaliation, irate youths of the Umuokoto Nekede, in Owerri West Council Area, Imo State set the family compound of the suspect ablaze. By then the suspect and members of his family had fled the village.
