Innocent Chukwuma, Innoson Motors’ Boss Hired Thugs To Attack Us - EFCC

 
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says the Founder and Chairman of Innoson Motors, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, allegedly hired six truckloads of thugs to attacks its operatives when they went to arrest him at his Enugu residence.

The Spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement that Mr. Chukwuma was arrested after failing to honour a series of invitations in breach of the conditions of his administrative bail.

32 SARS operatives in detention in Abuja, with most of them from Lagos

At least 32 operatives of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) are currently in detention, TheCable reports.
According to the report, that the arrested officers were moved to Abuja from different state commands during the weekend. “The suspects, who are all male, are now being held at various detention cells of the Federal SARS at Guzape District Abuja,” a source said.

A 23-year-old third year university student identified as Valerie Apondi, was on Saturday murdered by her boyfriend who accused her of being unfaithful.

The incident took place in the wee hours of the morning in a guest house in Bondo town. Apondi, who was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology, was found dead in a pool of blood in the room they had booked. .

Armed Robbers Hijack Bullion Van In Delta (Photos)


It was a chaotic moment on Friday (yesterday) in Asaba, Delta State capital after armed robbers attacked a bullion van around Koka junction along the Asaba-Benin Expressway and carted away a yet to be disclosed amount of cash.

According to reports, the heavily armed hoodlums, who came in a grey Sienna car, were seen shooting sporadically before overpowering the security personnel serving as escort to the bullion van said to belong to United Bank for Africa, (UBA), and thereafter took possession of the van and emptied its vault and zoomed off to an unknown destination.

30-Year-Old Nigerian Arrested In India For Trafficking Cocaine, Hard Drugs.

 
A Nigerian man has been arrested alongside others for drug peddling in India. The suspects who have been identified as Okonkwo Basil Ndubisi alias Kevin, 30, a Nigerian, and Abbas Mustan Seer Zanjeer Barwala, 23, who hails from Mumbai and a resident of Adugodi - were nabbed by police after a tip off.

Various narcotic substances were seized from the suspects, according to reports.

Meek Mill's Judge ordered to decide on his application for bail without delay

Meek Mill
The judge who sentenced Meek Mill to 2 to 4 years in prison for parole violations has been ordered to grant him a bail hearing for the 'harsh' sentencing.

The order was given on Monday, after his lawyers appealed to officials at Pennsylvania’s Superior Court, accusing Brinkley of holding up their appeal proceedings by failing to respond to any of their recent motions, while they also lodged an emergency order seeking bail for their famous client.
But the Superior Court judges declined to grant Meek’s bail request, explaining the matter should “first be presented to the lower court”, while ordering Judge Brinkley to rule on the outstanding issues "without further delay."

Images of a romantic encounter between two male lions in Kenya's Masai Mara has upset the country's 'moral police' who has blamed gay men visiting the national park for 'influencing' the animals' behaviour.

NDLEA Arrests Woman, Two Men For Drug Trafficking (photos) -


Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested three suspects for alleged attempt to smuggle drugs in and out of the country.

John Ifechukwu and Victor Anadu were intercepted at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja. They reportedly swallowed 65 and 54 wraps of substances to conceal the drug.
.
The spokesperson for the NDLEA, Jonah Achemah, also said a 37-year-old woman, Omotayo Anifowoshe, was also arrested at the local wing of the Lagos airport with 3.0 kilogrammes of ephedrine and 1.9kg of cocaine.

Court Declares Arrest Of Evans’ Brother-In-Law Invalid, Awards N2m Against Police


The Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday entered judgment against the Nigeria Police Force in the fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by one Mr. Okwuchukwu Obiechina said to be the brother-in-law of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans.

Justice Mohammed Idris, in a judgment on Monday, declared Obiechina’s arrest and detention and constitutional, holding that the remand order which the police claimed to have obtained from a magistrates’ court was invalid.

Rivers Clash: 32 IPOB Members Arrested, 1 Officer Killed And 2 Police Vans Burnt

 
The commissioner of police, Rivers state, Ahmed Zaki has revealed that 32 suspected members of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) have been arrested. He said they were arrested for allegedly being behind the fracas that occurred at Oyigbo local government area of the state.

Speaking to journalists at the command headquarters in Port-Harcourt, Zaki said that the area has been restored to normalcy and vowed that all those responsible for the unrest will be severely dealt with.

Students of Ebonyi State University, on Monday, raised the alarm over the increasing spate of sexual harassment and exploitation meted to them by some lecturers in the institution.

Some of the studentstold Daily Sun that some lecturers in the university demanded sex, and in some cases, financial gratification before they could pass their courses.

Three men are being held by the police in Akure, Ondo State capital for the murder of three female students of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo town for money ritual.
John Adenitire, aka Emir, Fasayo Fasanu, aka Abore and Alfa Abdulrafiu Tijani, a herbalist, claimed they killed the students and removed their left breasts and hands after they were promised N5million for each of the breasts and hands by suspected ritualists.

The Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Board began the demolition of illegal structures along the only highway that leads into the state capital.

According to the officials, the structures are not befitting of a state capital but the owners have been venting their anger and pleading for more time to move their wares. Drug Smuggling Pigeon Shot Dead By Argentinian Police Officers

 
Police in Argentina have shot a carrier pigeon that was spotted delivering contraband to a jail, prison authorities have revealed.

Suspicions were aroused when the bird was spotted flying in and out of the grounds of the jail in the central city of Santa Rosa over the course of several days.

After making a decision and shooting the bird down, officers discovered it was carrying a backpack, sewn into its feathers, containing sedative pills, marijuana and a USB drive, reports said.
