Labour Party To Unveil Baba-Ahmed As Obi’s Running Mate - Vanguard - Politics -



THE Labour Party, LP, will on Friday unveil Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as the running mate to Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 elections.

Senator Baba-Ahmed, who is in his 40s is the Proprietor of Baze University, Abuja and Baba-Ahmed University Kano.

The unveiling of the vice presidential candidate was initially slated for Thursday to be done by the LP’s Presidential candidate at the party’s national secretariate, Abuja.

The terrorist attack on the Kuje Medium Security Prison, Abuja, on Tuesday night resulted in the death of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and four inmates.

The name of the official? Iliya Ibrahim Achukwu, an Inspector of Corps (IC).

FIJ understands that Iliya was the first contact of the terrorists when they arrived at the prison and he confronted them, killing two of the invaders before being gunned down.

Atiku Reacts To Kuje Prison Break, Blames The Federal Government - Politics

 



The PDP’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the Kuje prison break. Atiku calls out the Federal Government’s inability to enthrone a regime of law and order as the reason why the country is experiencing a sharp rise in incessant attacks on hapless Nigerians.

Terrorists had on Tuesday night attacked the facility, freeing hundreds of inmates, among them fellow terrorists.

US Court Postpones Sentencing Of Hushpuppi - Crime - Nairaland


 

The U. S. Central District Court in California has again postponed the sentencing of a Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abass, popularly known as Hushpuppi, for the multi-million-dollar fraud charges he has pleaded guilty to.

Arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate (UAE) in June 2020, and subsequently flown to the U.S., Hushpuppi pleaded guilty to the charges in July 2021 and was ordered to remain in custody pending sentencing.

Judge Otis Wright has fixed September 21 as the new sentencing date.
