Nigerian man and Thai woman arrested for alleged murder in Malaysia

Police on Friday, February 24th, arrested a 33-year-old Nigerian man and a Thai woman in connection with a murder at Taman Puchong Prima, Malaysia Body of the victim, a Thai woman was found tied, gagged and covered with a blanket on a bed in the rental unit. The landlord discovered the dead body in one of the rooms he was renting out and alerted police at about 11.40am on Thursday.
She had been dead for about 24 to 48 hours.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Seri Abdul Samah Mat said the case has been classified as murder, and the two suspects were arrested on Friday.
"The male suspect from Nigeria is 33 years old, while the female suspect is a 28-year-old Thai national. They will be remanded for a week to allow investigations," he added.
Comm Abdul Samah declined to reveal if the suspects were the victim's housemates, adding that investigations were ongoing.

Court grants Nollywood movie producer, Seun Egbegbe N5 million bail

The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted Yoruba Movie producer, Seun Egbegbe and one Oyekan Ayomide N5 million bail. Both men have been in police custody since February 2nd for defrauding some Bureau De Change operatives at Gbagada in Lagos.

Ruling on their bail application today, the presiding judge, Justice Oluremi Oguntoyinbo said they should be remanded in prison until they fulfill their bail conditions.

Whistle blowers in Cross River promisesd N1 million for exposing Kidnappers and armed robbers, Governor Ayade reveals

Governor of Cross River state Prof Ben Ayade has announced that the sum of N1million will be given to anyone who can offer information leading to the arrest of kidnappers and armed robbers in the state.

He made this announcement on Tuesday at the Executive Council Chambers, Calabar, during a courtesy visit from the newly posted Commissioner of Police to the state, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa.


The whistleblowing operation, which was named “Hafiz law”, according to Governor Ayade, reveals that anyone who blows the whistle on an armed robber or a kidnapper and by intelligence or investigation that armed robber or kidnapper is found to be true, that person is entitled to N1million.

Army Jails Soldier, Suleiman Olamilekan For Beating Actress -


In a press release made available to Politics Nigeria, the Nigerian army has slammed soldier, Suleiman Olamilekan, with a one month jail sentence for assaulting an actress, Ebere Ohakwe on January 30th 2017.

In accordance with the Nigerian Army’s policy of zero tolerance to unprofessional conduct as well as its uncompromising stance on discipline and commitment to the rule of law, 6 Division Nigerian Army has charged, tried and found Private Suleiman Olamilekan of 6 Division Garrison, Port Harcourt guilty of the maltreatment of Miss Ebere Ohakwe. He was accordingly sentenced to 28 days Imprisonment with Hard Labour (IHL) and the forfeiture of his salary for same number of days to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

A 26-year-old house maid, Miss Mary Atte, arrested and charged before Isolo Magistrate’s court and remanded in prison for stealing her boss’ N2m, has refused to leave prison. She said she preferred to stay there in good faith.

She explained in the open court that the prison condition was far better for her than when she was outside and would continue to remain there for her comfort.

The shocking declaration amused the litigants present in the court including P.M.EXPRESS correspondent covering the court.

Atte made the confession when her matter was struck out for lack of diligent prosecution by the presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi and was released to go home.

A four-man armed robbery gang on Wednesday, February, 22, stormed Zenith Bank branch along Wetheral road Owerri, Imo state capital, injuring three police men and five bank customers.
