A popular Ghanaian slay queen identified as Charlotte Abena Woodey, has reportedly died in what could be considered as a mysterious manner after she was struck with a strange illness, Abena Woodey, who is widely known across Instagram in the West African country, is reported to have died after battling with the yet-to-be-disclosed illness.

However, the news of her death is fast spreading on social media with many people who knew her both in real life and virtually, sending in words of condolence to the bereaved family.

I can’t support Osinbajo because of my father, says Femi Kuti


The Afrobeat singer made this statement on Sunday night at Felabration, an annual musical event to celebrate the memory of his father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

He said the vice president visited him at home.

“Vice President Osinbajo came to me, to my house for support, he’s standing here and I am saying this here, but I told him I can’t support because of my father and he understands but he’s my friend, so he understands,” he told the crowd in attendance.

Sadiq Daba honoured with ‘Shield of Nollywood’ title

NAN reports that the actor received the honour at the 2018 Nollywood New Yam Festival Awards held on Thursday in Abuja.
Emeka Rollas, national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), described Daba as an inspiration to the industry.
“He is indeed a shield in the industry as his wealth of experience and consistency has contributed greatly to Nollywood,” he said.

Senator Florence Ita-Giwa has announced her defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) back to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) just as she also backed the second bid of Governor Ben Ayade of Cross Rivers State ahead of the 2019 general elections.

In an interview monitored by INDEPENDENT on Hit 95.5 FM on Thursday, Ita-Giwa says she was defecting to the PDP due to the level of confusion she saw in the APC, and that she had never seen any party that is as confused as the APC in all her life.

She also denied that she had an ambition to be the Deputy Governor of the state.

A man who was arrested and charged for a serious sexual assault has pleaded guilty just days after his attack. Akin Akinniran, 34, was charged on Monday, 22 October with sexual assault.

Police were called on Sunday, 21 October to reports of a serious sexual assault on Lower Clapton Road, E5 in London.

The victim, a 29-year-old woman, had exited a private hire vehicle and was walking along Lower Clapton Road. She was approached from behind before the suspect tried to speak to her.

How Chris Ekejimbe Died Of Malaria Drug Overdose


The Nigerian movie industry was thrown into mourning yesterday after a member, Chris Ekejimbe, died.

Ekejimbe passed on at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital,LUTH. He was said to have battled acute malaria and typhoid fever for more than two months. Chris Ekejimbe Founding President of the Association of Nollywood Core Producers, ANCOP, and APC candidate for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the forthcoming House of Representatives election, Comrade Alex Eyengho, who confirmed the news of Ekejimbe’s death to Sunday Vanguard, said the film maker passed on about 9 am yesterday at LUTH.
