We Caught The Serial Killer While Trying To Kill Another Lady In Hotel - Police


Personnel of the Rivers State Police Command, on Wednesday, rescued a young woman from being strangled at a hotel in the Mile 4 area of Port Harcourt.

The woman, whose name could not be immediately ascertained, was said to have struggled with the man, who attempted to strangle her with a pillow while she was asleep.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Mustapha Dandaura, disclosed this while speaking with scores of women protesting the serial killing of young females in hotels in some parts of the state.

Gunmen Kill Muhammad Bayero, Village Head In Plateau State (Graphic Photos) - Crime


Unknown gunmen, on Sunday night, attacked the palace of the Village Head of Kadunu, Muhammad Bayero in Langai District of Plateau’s Mangu local government area and killed him.

Daily Trust gathered that the village head, who goes by the title Rit Kadunu, was shot dead around 8:10 pm while another person in the palace was hit by a stray bullet in the leg.

$11m Alleged Fraud: Obinwanne Okeke pleads not guilty, remanded in prison

Obinwanne Okeke, the 31-year-old Nigerian held by American authorities for alleged fraud, entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of wire and computer fraud at his first hearing on Monday.

The presiding judge at the Newport News, Virginia, federal courthouse, declared the case as “complex,” but said Mr Okeke should be remanded in prison until February 18, 2020 when the trial would continue. He appeared in court at about 2 p.m. and waived his right to a speedy trial.

The Lagos State Police Command responded to the viral video on social media showing some Police Officers shooting two unarmed suspects who were arrested and already in their custody by arresting the guilty officers and charging them for murder.
According to the state PRO, Bala Elkana, their action is against the code of professional conduct and laws guiding how suspects in Police custody should be treated. The Policemen were identified as Inspector Fabiyi Omomayara, Sergeant Olaniyi Solomon,  Sergeant Solomon Sunday and Corporal Aliyu Mukaila  attached to Iba Division Patrol team.

Married Man Commits Suicide In Benue - Crime


A man in his early 50’s, Kula Adasu, yesterday reportedly committed suicide at Tse-Agberagba, the headquarters of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State. It was alleged that Jimin Adasu family members had accused Kula of being responsible for the death of Terseer Gyuve Adasu, who died in Makurdi earlier this month and is to be buried next Monday.

Edo: Dead Body Of A Pregnant Woman Found Beside A Football Pitch


The body of a pregnant woman whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was on Tuesday, July 30th discovered beside a football pitch close to the premises of Radio Nigeria (Bronze FM), in Benin, Edo State.

It was gathered that the yet to be identified woman’s body was discovered by a passer-by, along WAEC Road, in Aduwawa area of the city. The deceased, suspected to be in her early 40s, wore a red Ankara attire without any footwear, bag or mode of identification.

Court Orders INEC To Issue Ben Uwajumogu (APC Imo North) A Certificate Of Return

Man Bags 15 Years In Prison For N5.2m Fraud
Justice Taiwo Taiwo who delivered judgment on the application for the release of a certificate of return filed by Mr Uwajumogu, said the decision of INEC to review the outcome of the 2019 Senatorial Election is a contravention of the electoral act.

The court further held that INEC is bound by law to issue the Certificate of Return based on the declaration of the Returning Officer who announced Mr Uwajumogu as the duly elected Senator for Imo North Senatorial District.
