Justice U. N Agumoh of the Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has convicted and sentenced one Chief Felix Amadi, pictured above, to seven years imprisonment on a one-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence brought against him by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Amadi who was first arraigned on March 31st 2014, pleaded not guilty to the one- count charge pressed against him and the matter went into full trial. He was specifically tried for offering a plot of land for sale without granting the buyer possession of the land. He sold the landed property for a sum of N17, 600,000.00 (Seventeen Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira only).

Although in the course of his trial, he restituted the entire sum to the buyer of the land, nonetheless, Justice Agumoh still found him guilty of the charge preferred against him. He convicted and sentenced him to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine.

The Judge ordered the release of exhibit 22 (A brand new Nissan salon car) to the convict. The car was confiscated from him in the course of investigation.
