Indian Police Arrested A Nigerian With 204 Grams Of Cocaine In Gurugram - Crime

 

The accused has been identified as Daniel Obiefuna, a Nigerian resident who was currently staying near Jheel Chowk in Sector 52, Gurugram.

According to the Haryana Police spokesperson, a team of the Sector 53 police station, Gurugram, apprehended the accused near Wazirabad village on August 9 after allegedly finding the narcotic substance in his possession.

During the search, the police team recovered 204.04 grams of cocaine from the accused, the spokesperson said.

Following the recovery, Haryana Police registered a case against the accused at Sector 53 police station under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The Haryana Police spokesperson said preliminary interrogation revealed that the accused had come to India in 2024 on a medical visa.

Police said the cocaine recovered from his possession had allegedly been provided to him by one of his associates for sale in Gurugram. The seized cocaine is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 5 lakh.

Haryana Police are now verifying the accused’s visa and other relevant details as part of the investigation. the spokesperson said further proceedings in the case would be carried out in accordance with rules. The investigation is continuing to ascertain other facts related to the alleged supply of the narcotic substance.
