The Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has commended the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun for cancelling the conduct of the Local Government Congresses of the Party in the State, which should have, under normal scenario, taken place today.Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday confirmed the postponement of the today’s Imo local government congress just as the state secretariat of the APC was set ablaze by unknown persons.
Some hoodlums were on Saturday arrested at the gate of the venue of the Ekiti APC governorship primary election.It was learnt that one of the suspected hoodlums, who accused the policemen of bias after he was denied access into the venue because he did not have the necessary requirements, had on him charm wrapped in a red piece of cloth.
The man who absconded after his wife gave birth to a set of triplets in Edo state - has reunited with his family. Mr. Pius Edobor, a poor motorcycle rider known as Okada rider from Uromi area - fled after his wife; Mrs Ugonma Edobor gave birth to triplets December 29th, 2017.The man's absence caused untold hardship to the woman who was left to take care of herself and the babies before help came to her after an awareness was raised on social media.

When early today it was drizzling in parts of Igbaraoke, little did Mrs Funmilayo Osunla , know that the rain was a positive omen at meeting one of her long time customers who is now the governor in Ondo State.According to reports, the snail seller had thought any effort put into retaining Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, as customer might not materialise for obvious reasons.But, like a loyal customer, Governor Akeredolu, turned up at Iya Dare's stall after a long break. And so it was a miracle of her life to have the governor's convoy pull up to patronise her again!!!
About two persons are feared dead in Makoko community, Lagos Mainland, as a result of a gunfight in the community.Reports have it that communities in Makoko such as Temidire, Ori Oke, Aiyetoro, was invaded by gunmen suspected to be men of the Nigerian Army few minutes ago.Unconfirmed sources said two people have been killed in the ensuing gun battle between the residents and the officials suspected to belong to the Nigerian Army. The situation also led to throwing of dangerous weapons by residents of the area, Eyes Of Lagos learnt.
The wife of Bayelsa State Governor, Dr. Racheal Dickson, says as part of the measures to reduce the rate of maternal/infant mortality in the state, the government will henceforth pay pregnant women on a monthly basis.She said the stipend would enable the pregnant women to buy whatever they need during the pregnancy period, stressing that the government would also care for them medically to reduce cases of maternal and infant mortality.

A phone thief arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command, has confessed that he has stolen over 1200 from Lagos commuters since he joined pickpocketing gang.The suspect, Femi Solomon, from Ogun State, was arrested last Thursday in Iyana Oworo, after stealing a Samsung phone from a commuter in a bus stampede at the bus stop.Solomon, an auto technician noted that he joined pickpocketing gang in Obalende, where he was ushering people to buy used cloth popularly called "Okrika".
Three Nigerian men arrested in Chicago in what was described as a stolen car packed with counterfeit passports, drivers’ licenses, and cash, are back on the street, after they faced relatively minor charges.
Mayowa Balogun, Danteni Tijani and Dolapo Badmus, were picked up on January 23, in a Maserati SUV which came back stolen out of Ohio. Police alleged all were carrying counterfeit passports and driver’s licenses, mostly from Great Britain.
