Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam the candidate of the All Progressive Congress has
emerged winner of the 2015 gubernatorial election in Yobe State.
Announcing the results at the INEC headquarters in Damaturu, the returning officer for the election in the state and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri , Professor Njodi said Ibrahim Gaidam emerged winner with a total of 334,847 votes to defeat Alh. Adamu Maina Waziri of PDP who scored a total of 179,700 votes.
The incumbent governor won the election in sixteen of the seventeen LGAs in the state. The APC also won 22 out of the 24 seats in the state House of Assembly election with the PDP taking the remaining two.
