The Osun State Police Commissioner, Ibrahim Maishanu has
debunked the report which says the explosion that occurred yesterday in Osun
State was a bomb blast planted by boko haram sect members.
While speaking on Channels Tv, the commissioner said the
devices found at the scene of the explosion was not similar to the ones used by
the terrorist sect and he believes someone
just wanted to create tension and anxiety in the society as the state election
fast approaches.
“There was explosion; it is a minor explosion in the sense
that the damage was very minimal, no loss of life and no injury.
“But you know anything to do with explosion generate a lot
of tension, especially at this period. Some speculation that it’s Boko Haram
but from our own analysis there, it is not the modus operandi of Boko Haram,
and it is not the kind of devices they use. So I believe that somebody just
want to raise apprehension and tension in the society”, the commissioner said.
