Cry, Panic In Ebonyi Over Alleged Relocation Of Boko Haram Prisoners To Abakaliki

There was panic in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State capital over alleged relocation of Boko Haram prisoners from Ekwulobia, Anambra State to Abakaliki prisons.

Ebonyi residents woke up with great fears when news of alleged relocation of the 47 Boko Haram suspects filtered into town. Though Governor Dave Umahi swiftly dispelled the rumor, Abakaliki residents were already spoiling for protest.

According to the Governor; “I received a text message shortly after I returned to Abakaliki from my trip to Israel that Boko Haram suspects previously relocated to Ekwulobia Prison in Anambra State have been relocated to Abakaliki Prison.
“Immediately I got the text massage, I made some calls and I can tell you authoritatively that Boko Haram suspects were not relocated to Abakaliki and there are no plans for such relocation. Ebonyi State is not yet ripe to accommodate such high caliber of prison inmates”.
It was further gathered that the alleged relocation of the Boko Haram suspects from Ekwulobia Prisons in Anambra State to an undisclosed destination in the country may have triggered the suspicion that the dreaded sect members may have been transferred to Abakaliki prison.
Recall that there were about 134 inmates at the Ekwulobia prison before the 47 Boko Haram prisoners were brought in the night of Sunday, June 28, 2015 amidst tight security.
A reliable source revealed that the suspects had arrived the Abakaliki prisons last night in four trucks heavily guarded by security operatives mainly soldiers.
The Ebonyi State Police Commissioner, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah stated that she was not aware of the arrival of Boko Haram suspects in the state insisting that nobody has briefed her regarding the arrival of the suspects
Reacting to the development, the Public Relations Officer of Abakaliki prisons, Mr. Frank also stated that he was not aware of the arrival of Boko Haram suspects to the prison.
“I am not aware of Boko Haram suspects being brought to the prisons. If they are on their way, I don’t know”, he added.

Two Popular Actresses,Queen Nwokoye And Rachel Okonkwo Allegedly Fight Dirty (See Why)

According to report, there is an ongoing controversy between Nollywood actresses, Queen Nwokoye and Rachel Okonkwo 'Nkoli Nwa Nsukka' over movie roles.
Nigerianfilms.com reports that over the weekend, an unnamed top producer called Rachel Okonkwo to play the lead in his movie while foremost actress Queen played the sub-lead/supporting actress.
Reports claim all hell broke loose when the controversial thespian, Miss Queen, allegedly walked into the set and discovered the lady she was playing supporting actress with was her junior in the industry, Rachel.
She reportedly left the set, saying she can never play under the starlet, that she was expecting to see the likes of Genevieve or Omotola and not Rachel who just got famous like ‘last week’, as she allegedly put it.
She, however, entered into her car and reportedly drove off.
Although, reports further revealed that the producer later resolved that Queen plays the lead while Rachel plays the supporting actress, the latter who heard the news was devastated as she refused to come on set and play a supporting role under Queen.
According to her, she said she can never act under Queen.

Finally, Federal Government Relocates Boko Haram Detainees From Ekwulobia, Anambra State

The fourty-seven (47) suspected members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect who were in June 28, 2015 brought into the medium security prison in Ekwulobia, Aguata local government area of Anambra State, have been taken away from the state, Vanguard reports.

It was reported that the insurgents were removed on Tuesday night and taken to an unknown destination amid tight security. A source said "definitely they (Boko Haram members) have been taken out of Anambra State." This development came weeks after protests by traders in all the major towns in Anambra State trailed the presence of the Boko Haram suspects soon after they were brought into the state, although calm eventually returned.

The newspaper’s visit to prison facility yesterday showed that the heavy security presence that was mounted shortly after the suspects were brought to the town has relaxed, as the snipers that usually sat atop a structure at the prison were not seen on their duty post. The gate of the prison was reportedly open, unlike what the situation had been the case for the past three months.

War Of Words Is Still On! Soyinka Blasts Obasanjo Again, What He Called Him This Time Will Shock You

This two elders sha..lol..The Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as an overgrown child of circumstance.

Soyinka sharply criticised Obasanjo in his (Nobel laureate’s) new book, titled InterInventions: Between Defective Memory and the Public Lie – A Personal Odyssey in the Republic of Liars, presented in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday.

Although Soyinka conceded that he used to be friendly with Obasanjo and admitted in the book that some stakeholders were making efforts to reconcile them, he said he owed it a responsibility to fundamentally respond to lies that Obasanjo allegedly told against him in his latest biography, titled, My Watch, described in InterInventions as Three-Carat Watch.
