Federal Government Bans Use Of Phones In Nigerian Prisons

The Federal Government has banned the use of mobile phones in all the prison formations by the inmates and prison officials.

It also directed the Nigerian Prison
Service authorities to recover all handsets from inmates within 30 days. Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, who handed down the order on Saturday in Abuja, during an interactive meeting with the senior officers of the Prison Service, decried indecent dressing by the inmates.

He stated that no inmate should be allowed to wear their choice of clothes or shoes, as is the practice presently, “no matter highly placed they may be.” Moro said, “I have visited some prisons in other countries as the Minister of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria; Nobody, no matter highly placed you are, you don’t come to prison with your phones, not even the minister of Interior as the supervising minister over the prisons. So, why are you an exception? “Henceforth, no matter who you are including myself, that nobody goes into prison with telephones. And so, as you are going from here, create a meeting platform where all the officers that work
in the prisons as they walk into prisons, they submit their phones and collect them when they close.

“Secondly, it means that you have one month to recover all the phones in the custody of inmates across the prison formations. Within one month, all prison formation must recover all telephones from inmates.”

The minister threatened to deal with the NPS management if it failed to carry out the directive, adding that he would know if the phones were not recovered from the inmates as ordered. “Don’t forget that I will know if you fail
to do this, because we have various
agencies in Nigeria that are tracking telephone usages and MTN and other service providers could make available such facilities. The consequence of not
doing this,you should already know,” he told the senior prison officials.

Commenting on the recent attack on Koton-karfe prison in Kogi State, the Minister expressed dismay over the failure of the prisons intelligence unit and the armed squad to foil the plots that led to two attacks within two years.
Moro directed the Acting Comptroller- General of Prisons, Aminu Suley, to investigate and report back to him, within two weeks, allegations that a prison officer assisted the attackers with
arms.

Third wife of late Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Laide, has revealed that her late Afrobeat king was a man who built his family and had control over it. The beautiful woman said she would wish to die and join the late activist singer.

Speaking on a TVC programme, Your Views, on Wednesday, the woman said Fela got married to his much talked about 27 wives in order to compensate the earlier married wives of his who were brutalised by the government of then Military ruler, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Laide, who was a DJ in 1974, stated that they were severely dealt with by the military government and disclosed that she would not accept any form of apology except monetary.
She said Fela household lost several properties in the attack. According to her, as far as the Fela’s legacy lives on, the family remains united.

Speaking further on whether it would affect their relationship as colleagues in the movie industry, Bob Manuel-Udokwu said, “We didn’t have any special relationship before now, so the issue of it being strained doesn’t arise. We showed courtesy to each other whenever we met but we’ve not run into each other since my declaration to contest."

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Justice, Dr. Ali Ahmad, has warned the police against trying to make any attempt to arrest the Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal, stating that 100 legislators would be prepared to follow him to prison. Ali made this statement yesterday in Ilorin, Kwara State, while inaugurating the vocational centre of the University of Ilorin Students’ Union, equipped by him.

 “If anybody is planning to arrest Mr. Speaker, they should be ready to arrest over 100 legislators. We would follow him to the prison. If they won’t open the prison door, we would break it and go inside.

“If they are arresting the Speaker, they should be prepared; we would all go in there. If they have shackles, they should go and buy more.

“We would do anything for Nigeria’s democracy not to be sacrificed on the altar of somebody’s personal ego. Nigeria is a constitutional country and is a government that is being governed by constitution.

“It’s not a kingdom; you cannot just wake up and say you want somebody to disappear. No, you are there because of the constitution; you will continue to be there because of the constitution and when you leave, you leave because of the constitution.

I Scaled National Assembly Gate To Save Our Democracy- Gbajabiamila

The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and APC Caucus Leader, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has disclosed the reason why he went over the National Assembly gate during the recent chaos which took place in Abuja.

Gbajabiamila who represents Surulere I constituency of Lagos State wrote on his Facebook;  “What happened in the National Assembly yesterday will forever live in infamy. Never thought I would see the day when I would be forced to go over the assembly gates where I work to gain access into the chambers.

The team did the video in collaboration with Voice Your Rights Project, a student group in their school whose mission is for all people "to live in a society in which every person is respected and treated as equals."

APC strongly condemns invasion of its offices, calls it worst political scandal in nation's history

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned Saturday invasion of its offices in Lagos by security agents, calling it perhaps the worst political scandal in Nigeria's history.

In a statement issued in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the invasion can only be likened to the Watergate Scandal that led to the resignation of US President Richard Nixon in 1974, as a result of the June 17, 1972, break-in at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C., and the attempted cover-up of its involvement by the Republican Nixon Administration.

It therefore called for an independent inquiry to fish out those who ordered the needless and unprovoked attack on the offices of the APC and ensure that they face very serious consequences, irrespective of their status

''Saturday's attack is another one in the string of attacks and illegal actions of the PDP-led administration. The attack was unwarranted and unjustifiable. To attack one of the offices of the opposition party, APC, where legitimate operations of the party were being undertaken is an act of fascism and totalitarianism. D’banj Dragged To Court Over Alleged Dud Cheque, Bad Debt

This are indeed not the best times for koko master, and as a matter of fact this is the first time I am hearing D’banj being in a mess over money. Now a Technology company, MindHub Technologies is claiming D’banj is owing them the sum of  $240,000 and another  N15,000,000, which the artiste has not denied but issued them post-dated cheques which were bounced back.

MindHub Technologies who now speak with D’banj through their lawyers after all efforts made by them for him to pay proved abortive said D’banj has only deemed it  fit since last year to pay only N8,600,000 out of the N15,000,000 and has not paid a single penny from the $240,000.

The case is already in a Lagos high court and due for hearing, why it has been almost impossible for months now to serve D’banj, because he has been outside the country, while some however claim the major reason D’banj has been in the US is because he does not want to be served. Lol. The things you read everyday! A heavily pregnant woman and her partner were caught having sex in a hospital bed in the UK while waiting to have their baby induced, Daily Mail reports

The mother and father were discovered by a cleaner who heard moaning coming from a private room on the maternity ward.

The worker told hospital bosses what she had found but was informed there are no rules against having sex on the ward at St Michael's Hospital, in Bristol. (picture above)

The hospital's policy is for frisky couples to put a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, The Sun reported. 

A hospital source said: 'Other patients on the unit heard the commotion and were upset. The cleaner was utterly shocked. She was amazed to be told it was OK. The hospital's advice appears to be just to put a sign up - amazing.'

Like herbal remedies and eating spicy food, sex is said to help induce labour in some cases.

However, NHS advice says: 'You may have heard that certain things can trigger labour, such as herbal supplements and having sex, but there is no evidence that these work.

'Having sex won't cause harm, but you should avoid having sex if your waters have broken as there is an increased risk of infection.'

24-Year Old Man Commits Suicide In Church

A 24-year-old man, Lanre Falodu, has reportedly committed suicide in a church premises in Owo area of Ondo State, where he was taken for deliverance.

The deceased brother, Tunde, according to a police source, took him to the church located at Imola area of Owo to seek spiritual solution to his problem.

It was learned that the deceased, who had been in church for some time, reportedly escaped at about 5:30a.m. on the ill-fated day.

He was said to have hung himself on a tree within the church premises.

His lifeless body was discovered by the pastor of the church, who informed Police in Owo.

How 3 Police Officers Were Beaten And Striped Naked In Edo State

Three female police officers attached to the Edo State Police Command have been stripped naked while trying to effect an arrest at Oregbeni quarters in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of the state.
The officers were said to have been assaulted and stripped after honouring an invitation by a landlady in the area to arrest one of her tenants.

The police officers are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
According to information gathered, things got heated up when the tenant insisted on taking her bath before going to the police station but the police officers said she should follow them.
Other residents in the area reportedly joined the tenant to beat and strip the officers.
The landlady who was identified as Mrs. Okebuse said she invited the police because she had given the tenants quit notice.

She said, “When the police came to make arrest, they started fighting the police. I ran for my life and hid in the other compound.” An eyewitness said the landlady uses police to harass her tenants.




The state’s Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, said the perpetrators of the attack would be dealt with according to the full extent of the law.
He said suspects arrested have since been charged to court

David Mark shuts down National Assembly till November 25th

Senate President, David Mark has ordered the shut down of the National Assembly till Tuesday next week, November 25th, following this morning's chaos in which the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, and other lawmakers were allegedly teargassed and prevented from entering the Assembly complex. Mark announced this moments ago at the Senate plenary session.

The IG of police has also been ordered to appear before the House to explain what happened today. Meanwhile the House of Reps have adjourned till December 3rd.

Tambuwal Steps Down, Fayose Sacks Speaker’s Aides

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, has confirmed his withdrawal from the presidential race. Tambuwal confirmed this in a statement today where he said he was standing down for the “unity” of his party, All Progressives Congress, APC, and he will be supporting other aspirants seeking the party’s ticket.

The speaker will now contest as the governor of his home Sokoto State, according to a source.

A nursing student who has been dubbed the world's sexiest criminal while some refer to her as the world’s most beautiful criminal, whose pictures appeared online few weeks back when she was arrested by the police for criminal offences and her mugshot posted online was yesterday arraigned in court.

Stephanie Beaudoing, 21, became a world topic shortly after the pictures emerged has some people even went as far as comparing her looks to that of  Kim K and wants the Canadian Government to forgive her for her crimes because of her beauty.

Police Arrest Man Who Poses As 'Jesus', Walks On Water In The USA (Photos)

Jesus has been arrested after walking on water in Philadelphia’s Love Park, USA. A street performer Michael Grant or ‘Philly Jesus’ is a local celebrity in Philadelphia’s parks. His favorite pastime is walking on water in the park’s fountains, and occasionally baptizing people.

And although police is convinced that Jesus violates public order, “Messiah’s” supporters are ready to do everything possible to release him out of prison.

According to police reports, Grant was arrested for disorderly conduct when he refused to leave the park. Hundreds of people are now protesting online using #FreePhillyJesus hashtag, to have Grant’s charges dropped.

Addressing to his fans Grant says, “All is well. This is just pushing me towards the best of me. You’re always gonna have your haters. People are not gonna like what they don’t understand. I love the hate. Keep the hate coming: Be patient, because the war is coming.”

Grant is a recovering drug addict, who says he just spreads God’s message via the medium of splashing about in fountains. Grant was arrested more than a dozen times between 2005 and 2013

aspiring diplomat who enjoys playing
